Are virtual schools effective?

To find out if virtual schools are effective, I decided to look at test scores from virtual schools. K12, a viritual school, has test scores that are 14 to 36 percent lower than text scores from traditional schools. The text scores for reading are 2 and 11 percent below state average.
The graduation rate is also lower. The K12 graduation rate is 49.1 percent. Traditional school graduation rate is 79.4 percent.
What is the cause for this?  Does this mean that virtual schools are not effective? With more of my research I will find out.

  1. So if graduation rates have gone down that means drop-out rates have gone up. This means students are not enjoying school. Why do they not enjoy school? it is very fun. Very nice article Jordann.
